The Procurement menu contains details on acquiring hardware and software. It includes any purchases, contracts you may have (including software maintenance or purchase contracts) and any payments associated with those contracts, and any suppliers you deal with. Vendors, the group of companies that sell you things, can be further divided into the companies that make and publish the software they sell (called “publishers” in IT Asset Management), such as Microsoft and Adobe; and companies that resell software published by other entities (called “Resellers”). Both publishers and vendors are stored as vendors in IT Asset Management.
SOFTWARE FOR ORDERS?
Purchasing is the strategic process of locating and acquiring goods and services that a company requires. Purchasing also establishes controls that protect against risks and cost inefficiencies.
Procurement software is business software that enables businesses to automate the entire cycle from source to payment. From analyzing and managing spend to managing contracts and making invoice payments, users can gain full control and access to every operation of the procurement process.
Procurement tools allow employees to virtually request purchases from anywhere worldwide, freeing up critical resources needed elsewhere.
